Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you can’t have her back fast, but getting things done fast and being in haste are two very different things. The problem is that you are in a hurry and when people try to do things in a hurry, they usually mess things up.

There is a famous saying that goes “The haste of a fool is the slowest thing in the world”. If I haven’t given you enough hint already, your first job is to think long-term rather than instant gratification.

Trust me when I say this, your ex girlfriend did not wake up one morning and just thought she would dump you. You getting dumped is the result of many problems that you either had ignored or you were too busy to give attention to, and most likely for an extended period of time.

To recap what I said so far, first you have to think long-term, second you have to improve on your communication skills, and the two things will improve the inner you. Now it’s time to think about the outer you as well.

A relationship that would define the two persons involved as lovers is a bit more complicated than say a friendship. You don’t need to upkeep your looks to stay friends with someone, but the complete opposite is true to sustain a healthy relationship with your girlfriend.

While there is a limited or no physical interaction with a friend, a relationship with a girlfriend would have you engaged in all sorts of physical interaction. You cannot expect your girlfriend to be sexually aroused by you when you have gained a love handle or two around your waist. Maybe you demand your girlfriend to get a Brazilian wax but you are not even willing to shave your beard every day.

Your problems may not be exact with the issues I describe above, but use your common sense to connect the dots. There is no universal cure for all ailing relationships, so think of improving communication skills and improving the outer you as a vaccine of sort to keep your relationship going even through the toughest of the times.
