That is a sure sign that you are not ready to work at saving what has been lost. Also don’t be defensive; they need to be able to tell you how they really feel without you taking offence. The idea is for both people to find out what they have to work on individually and as a couple to make this a success.

It is easy to think about how to fix a broken relationship, and much harder to accomplish. Decide first and foremost whether this is really the person you need and want to be with. If it is, be prepared to compromise and put as much effort as needed into getting your ex to fall back in love with you.
